Legal Question in Personal Injury in North Carolina

Our local ice skating rink offers a public skate session, during this time no one is allowed to have any objects on the ice (like hockey pucks) - these rules are posted on the wall at the rink. When the public buys their ticket to skate, the ticket states the ice rink is not responsible for any injuries (which makes sense because ice skating is dangerous). If someone is hitting a puck around the ice rink during a public skate and injures someone, who is responsible for this injury occurring? Is it the rink for not enforcing the no objects on the ice rule or is it the person hitting the puck around the ice since they are deliberately ignoring the rules of the ice rink?

You haven't provided any where near enough facts to answer this question with any degree of accuracy and some of the 'facts' are very likely assumptions on your part. For instance, you likely do not know the person hitting the puck did so deliberately ignoring the rules. Anywho, it will likely be the case that the rink isn't responsible because you generally assume the risk of injury when you willingly participate in skating. You'd probably have to prove some sort of will purposeful or what is known as gross negligence in order to hold the rink accountable. More likely the person hitting the puck would be responsible but there are a lot of factors to determine who is liable if anyone. Your best bet is to consult a local personal injury attorney - you should do this ASAP because some aspects of this type of case are time sensitive.
