Legal Question in Real Estate Law in North Carolina

My 17 year old son recently moved from his mom's apartment to my house and in the process, she will not let him have any of his computer equipment that he worked for, bought and paid for from his own bank account. He can get bank records and invoices to prove that. I have tried on several attempts via phone calls and text messages to get his computer equipment. She sent me a text message telling me not to contact her anymore and her lawyer advised her that if I keep contacting her, it's considered harassment and not to contact her anymore. I told her all she has to do is give back his computer equipment and I will not contact her again. Since I am trying to get personal property that belongs to my son and not her and I am not threatening her, is that considered harassment?

After a while, yes it could. If she refuses to give it to him, then a small claims suit for return of personal property needs to be filed.
