Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina

when i was 17 i got a ticket . i was unlicensed and i didnt go to court or pay it off. nothing happened and im wondering what do i have to do to try and obtain my license now that im 20

Oh, something happened alright, it just likely wasn't serious enough to land you in jail. If your ticket was for a minor offense and NOL, your case would have gone into the 20 day file when you failed to appear at your court date. After the 20 days expired you then got an nice $200 FTA bonus tacked on to whatever your ticket ultimately costs you and DMV was notified. DMV would have then sent a letter to you at the address that was on your ticket giving you an additional 30 days to take care of the ticket. When the 30 days expired more fees applied and now you will pretty much likely never get a license anywhere until you pay a giant crap load of cash to fix a problem that would have likely cost you around a couple of hundred dollars 3 years ago.
