Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in North Carolina

My sister and I co-own my deceased mother's 2 houses. My sister won't put them up for sale. Is there a way I can either force her to sell or buy me out? I have medical bills I need to pay.

Is the probate of the estate completed? If not, who is the executor? Are there enough assets in the estate to satisfy all claims?

If the estate is still being probated, you could request your sister to buy out your share for the fair market value. If she refuses, then I would seek partition of the real property.

If the estate has already been closed, then seek out a real estate litigation attorney to bring a partition action.
