Now 6yrs later I am unable to pay the debt I occured from the divorce and am going to have my wages garnished here very soon and need to file bankruptcy on my own. I was dimissed from the one in 1997 am I going to be able to do this or not. If it matters the one in 97 was in the state of AZ.

Re: how often can one file for bankruptcy

What Chapter of bankruptcy did you file in 1997? If you and your wife filed a Chapter 7, you are not elgible to file another Chapter 7 for 6 years. However, you may be elgible to file a Chapter 13. A Chapter 13 is a payment plan where you pay back your creditors at a price you can afford per month.
