Copyrights protect expression, not ideas. It is not possible to copyright an idea.

A new construction process may be eligible for patent protection. A patent can protect an idea/process and provides more protection than a copyright but for a shorter period of time. You will need a special attorney for a patent application, one that has been admitted to the patent bar by the United State Patent and Trademark Office. You can search for a patent bar registered attorney at: http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/dcom/olia/oed/roster/index.html. There is also lots of information at the uspto.gov website.

I would not suggest trying to do the application yourself. The USPTO has very strict rules for filings and it is easy to make a minor but fatal mistake. Good luck in your new endevour.
