Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio

Civil Lawsuit

If a judgement is granted in the plantiff favor, does this mean that the defendant has to pay immediately? I was told that even if the plantiff wins the judgement it don't necessary means that the defendant will pay right away. I think you have to get a post judgement, and go after the defendants wages, business, assets etc..

If they file bankruptcy, can you still recover if a judgement is granted in the plantiffs favor.

How long after a judgement is issued in the plantiffs favor does the defandant have to pay timewise?

If they won't pay, then you need to go after any assets they have and there are legal procedures for this. If they file bankruptcy, you may be out of luck, depending on what the judgement is for. There is no set limit for how long the defendant has to pay. I would usually write a demand letter and then proceed with collection procedures.
