Re: classification and registration

I currently have a client in the same position as you (classified as a "sexually oriented offender" then being changed to Tier III) that I am writing a petition for. There are some general constitutional arguments that can be made, but much of it will be fact-specific to your situation. This is especially true for challenging the registration requirement. And of course, all this needs to be done within 60 days of you receiving your classification letter.

I would be happy to talk with you and discuss whether I could also help you with your petition. Feel free to contact me to set up an appointment.

You are wise to seek the assitance of an attorney to write this petition. This is a new area of the law, and most attorneys (including me) will be conducting research on how to best present the issues.

Good luck with your case.
