Transfer or sale of property to reaitive
Hi,My Aunt is 93 amd she wants to transfer her house to me.If she must go into a nursing home,can they take the property ? If so,would it make any difference if she sold the property to me ?

As far as medicaid is concerned there is a 3 year lookback period. In otherwords, if she transfered the house and went into a nursing home within 3 years, they could take the home to off set the medicaid. In any event I would transfer the property now so that the lookback period can start.
