Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

I am in the very beginning of a divorce. Meaning haven't hired a lawyer yet. I am wanting to purchase a home. I am hoping to start the buying process before the divorce is finalised and then finish after finalization of divorce. My question is; how soon into a divorce can I start the home buying process without my wife having any rights to the property?

To begin with you will not be able to obtain a mortgage without your wife's signature. Once you are divorced you can then purchase the property and you will not need her signature on the mortgage.

If you are paying cash and there won't be a mortgage you still need to wait until the divorce is final or she will have rights in the property.

The easy answer is do not put it in your name until the divorce is final.
