Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

How do I get my grown daughter and her kids out?

I have a friend who has a problem. She has a 30 year old daughter and her 3 children living with her. Unfortunately, my friend allowed her daughter to come into her house after she had lost her job and therefore lost her apartment.

Now, her daughter has a very well paying job, and can afford to move out, but, her daughter chooses to not pay anything toward room, food, or utilities for her or her kids, nor does she have any inclination to find her own place to live. What, if anything, can be done to legally get this deadbeat out of the house?

This seems to be a common problem with parents these days, since several of her friend seem to have the same problem. An answer to this question, if it works, would benefit many single female parents, and grandparents.

Thanks, and I'll be waiting for your answer

Re: How do I get my grown daughter and her kids out?

The easy solution is to give her a three day notice of eviction and follow up with a Court action. But first I would talk to her about sharing expenses and lay down some ground rules. I would write down the ground rules before you had the converstaion to help give you guidelines and courage.

Good luck!!
