If a couple gets engaged in Ohio and a ring is presented, if they break up who gets the ring?

Dear dis-engaged: The honest thing to do is to return the ring. Dis-engage in good faith. If it didn't work out, don't look for additional bad feelings. Part as friends, and look to better days.
