How long does a judge have to rule on a motion to dismiss a verdict?

I'm not sure what a motion to "dismiss" a verdict is. If it is a motion to enter judgement in contravention of a jury verdict there is no "deadline" within which to enter a ruling and the filing of such a motion does not toll the time you have to file an appeal. From experience, these motions are almose never granted.
