Can an employer not hire you for a position because they didn't like you? is this consider discrimination?

Karen, in Ohio, a private employer can fire or refuse to hire someone for no reason or any reason at all. They don't need a good reason. It could be as arbitrary as "the sky is blue today, so you're fired." However, the employer cannot fire or refuse to hire you for an illegal reason, such as when the decision is based on your race, color, sex, national origin, age, etc.
