Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Carpet replacement

Am I responsible to replace the carpet after the new owners take posession and are not pleased with the sanitation of the carpet? The new owners have ripped out the old carpet in 6 of the 8 rooms in the house one month after posession. The concern is 'strong pet odor'. The home had been inspected twice (by seller and buyer) and there were several open houses to show the property. The property was left furnished for 49 days while they worked out of state.

Re: Carpet replacement

It depends what obligations you've undertaken in your contract. Normally property is sold "as is". As the carpet is open to inspection, it is "as is" unless you have contractually agreed to deliver the property in a certain condition.
