Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

My rights at closing

We have had a house built and the company that built it for us is now saying that the financing that was originally configured for us is no longer valid because we make to much. I am a week from having to be out of my current location and still don't know where I am going to live. They are working on new financing but in the mean time, I need to know what my rights are concerning this issue. We where supposed to close on the new house today. They can't give me a new closing date yet.

Re: My rights at closing

You need to see an attorney who will have to review the contract to see what your rights are in regard to financing. It should not have gone this far before your income was addressed. It will depend on whether you had a financing contingency and if there is a breach of contract and on the part of whom. There are several alternative financing opportunities that may be able to find you a loan quickly and let you still get into that house. Don't depend on the builder to find you a package.
