Legal Question in Securities Law in Ohio

Collecting a summary judgement

We won summary judgement for $300,000. The man and company we sued lost in a hearing with the Department of commerce in Ohio. We have a 500 page transcription detialing what happened. We need to take the steps to levy on his assets or garnish his wages. I am not sure what the next step to take is. I just need some help and guidance.

Thank you for your help.

Re: Collecting a summary judgement

Your Ohio-oriented question was directed to me, possibly in error. I practice only in California so I cannot give you anything other than some very general advice:

(1) The amount of money involved makes it imperative that you seek the advice of a competent OHIO attorney at once to review your judgment and initiate enforcement and collection activity.

(2) Was there an attorney involved in winning this judgment? Why is he/she now fallen by the wayside in assisting you? Unless you are displeased with the representation you received for some reason, you should probably use this same attorney to handle this question.

Finally, are you sure what you have won is a summary judgment and not a default judgment?

Collecting on a judgment is always tricky and due to the size of this one you should be aware of the possibility that an appeal will be filed, or that assets will be hidden, or some other roadblock will be thrown in your way. Get Ohio legal assistance ASAP!!!!! This is too much money to leave to chance.
