Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

My dad passed away last August. My brother is the executor of the will which has been in probate. In the will, when the house is sold, I am to recieve "25% of the proceeds from the sale of the house".

My question is how can I be sure that I receive the correct amount? My brother said he will be handling all of the "check writing" to pay everything attached to the estate which I thought was the lawyers responsibility. This includes bills that he put in his name for the residence. My brother would go grocery shopping and call it an estate expense if he could get away with it before sending my share.

Any information would be helpful to "clue" me in and very appreciated

Your brother will need to file an account with the court regarding all expenditures from the estate account and will need to show all checks. If you do not agree with the account you can file exceptions.
