Do I have to go through probate even though my husband's will left everything to me?

It depends on how the assets were held by your husband. If he owned anything in his name alone than yes you will need to go through probate.

I agree with Ms. Schmitz, but would add that any property that was owned jointly with your husband needs to be placed in your name. So if your real estate is joint and survivor, for example, you need to file an affidavit of survivor and a copy of the death certificate with the county recorder. If you had joint bank accounts, you need to notify the banks. I hope this helps.
