If a UTMA owner is 18 in Ohio, can someone sue the custodian for him or must he do it himself becouse he is an adult?

Being an adult, presuming he has not been declared incompetent, he would be able to sue on his own behalf and in his own name. If there existed a good reason why it is not convenient for him do to so, I suppose he could sign a limited power of attorney granting another party the right to act for him regarding such a suit.
