do employers have to give you a reason when thry terminate your employment

Are you in a union?

DId you have a written contract?

You may be an at will employee, which means you can be fired for ANY reason (as long as it's not illegal: race sex age etc.)

In some states you are entitled to the reason if you demand it in writing (letter sent certified mail.) I would need to review the relevant statutes to advise you re: this.
