being sued for breaking a lease

me and my exgirlfriend are being sued for breaking a 6 month lease 3 months early.what could happen?we both sighed the lease, but are no longer together.

The landlord doesn't care who pays so long as it's paid. To prevent a mess, both of you should pay 1/2, but it might turn out that to protect *yourself* from future credit problems, you got ahead and pay the whole thing.

Still, make sure that the landlord is entitled to the full 3months before you pay it. A lawyer can help with that.

You will be held liable for the balance on the lease. I would need to review the lease to advise, but you are likely JOINTLY and SEVERALLY liable, meaning whoever has the $ will be paying ALL OF THE DAMAGES, not just half.
