Laid off after shoulder injury

I hurt my shoulder while at work approximately 5 months ago. I reported the injury to my boss and was then sent to the doctors. It was discovered that the cartiledge was completly torn from my shoulder and was bone on bone. I was given pain medication and sent for physical therapy. During this time I was put on work restriction. I was in therapy for a few weeks and seemed to be doing better. Then into the third week of therapy I was laid off from work. I was sent to 3 more therapy sessions and then sent to the doctor. I told the doctor I seemed better and he gave me a clean bill of health and sent me home. I started looking for work and found a job as a warehouse manager. As soon as I started working again my shoulder started hurting. I called my former employers insurance company and they gave me a very hard time and accused me of re-injuring myself at my new employment (which I did not). I was then told to go back to therapy. However, because I had just started a new job due to my lay off, I couldn't take off for therapy. Now I suffer everyday and night. I am in constant and terrible pain. Can you please offer some advice as to what I can do about this?

Re: Laid off after shoulder injury

Thanks for your question. My advice is to contact an attorney and get your claim on file. Who cares which company has to pay. That will be for them to fight about. If your injury is as you describe, you probably need surgery and further treatment. I would be glad to schedule an appointment with you or assist you in obtaining one in your area.
