My husband and I will be taking a trip without our son. We would

feel better if we had something sayting who would get custody of

him in case of our death. What forms do we use and are there any

other steps that need to be taken?

Re: Guardian for child in the event of parents' deaths.

YOUR QUESTION:

feel better if we had something sayting who would get custody of

him in case of our death. What forms do we use and are there any

other steps that need to be taken?

ANSWER:

The document/form you need is called a "WILL." Needs to be in proper legal form, using correct legal wording and properly signed and witnessed. You will probably need two of them, one for each parent. Best advice: consult with a lawyer. Secondary advise: Buy a computer program for do-it-yourself will drafting.
