Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Pennsylvania

Chapter 13 Question

My first trustee payment will due tommorow and I will not have the money until tuesday of next week. If I call the trustee's office can or will they give me more time - or are they bound by law to keep the payment within the 30 day period after you file a Chpt 13 petition? Also, I resume making my mortgage payments within that 30 day period as well? or do I have to wait until after the trustee meeting which is not until september 2007. Please advise and thank you.

Re: Chapter 13 Question

You should begin making the payment as soon as you can and try to be current with payments by the time of the first meeting of creditors. Otherwise, the Trustee will have to direct your attorney to file an amended plan to increase the plan payment. If you are in the Western District of Pennsylvania your mortgage must be included in the plan.
