Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Pennsylvania

Can i sue someone if i bought a car and it broke down just an hour later, and realized the person tampered with the car so i couldn't see the problem before buying it.. They advertised that the car engine and transmission is in excellent condition but i later realized the transmission is bad and needs a replacement.. That is going to cost me the same as the cost of the car.. can i sue for misrepresentation of item ,or prove that they tampered with the car and it was a scam..?

If all the facts are as you say and can be proven you may be able to sue the the other person. You will need evidence of allegations and a mechanic who can testify as to the condition of the car. i assume you have a copy of the advertisement. There are always issues with used cars and cases are not as easy to prove as you may think. Perhaps consulting with a lawyer and showing whatever documentation you have would be beneficial.
