Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania

breached contract

I hired a private investigator in a different state. there was a certain criteria stipulated in the contract regarding what information he was to procure. He never supplied me with this information nor provided a final report as to how his time was spent which was part of the contract. The subject found out very quickly that he was being investigated. I provided a $500 retainer to the PI. I dont feel he has fulfilled any part of the contract. There is a statement in the contract that any legal recourse must be done in his county. This would cost me more money. Could I sue him in the municipality the contract was signed in being MY municipality or are there any other options that will not cost me an exhorbitant amount of money. He has also ceased all contact with me.

Re: breached contract

The forum selection clause that is in your contract may or may not be valid. An attorney would have to read your entire contract to be able to advise you appropriately. In any event, you could file suite in your county and force the PI to file a motion to change the forum based on the contract.
