Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania

Just want to know what kind of lawyer I need to take a business to court because they took me to court over an insufficient funds for a check I wrote and instead of contacting me about it I had to go to court over it. I paid them in cash after that. They said they tried contacting me "several times" on the complaint which is a lie. Now I have a theft by deception on my record and hindering my ability to get a good job. What kind of lawyer do I need. Thanks, Eric

You should have hired a criminal defense lawyer when you were charged. It would have been likely you could have avoided the conviction if they didn't contact you. Although a bad check charge is a different charge than theft by deception, so its not clear how you ended up with that.

In order for you to sue the business for malicious prosecution or wrongful use of civil proceedings (whichever applies) you would have had to prevail in the criminal case and had the charges dropped or found not guilty. Again, you should have hired an attorney when you were charged.
