Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania

Tamper evident labels

I have a product that is rented out. If a customer breaks the tamper evident seal can I take legal action and/or fine them?

Re: Tamper evident labels

Your recourse would depend upon what it says in your written contract. You do have one of those don't you?

If it's damaged, you can sue for the amount of the damage, up to the amount of the item.

You can't, however, "fine" the person, because I assume you're not a government or a court.

Well, that depends...did you rent it out pursuant to a contract? If so, what does the contract say? If not, then does breaking the tamper-evident seal damage the property? If so, you can sue him in small claims, if it's worth it. I have no idea what in the world you may have rented out from that description, but if they damage it, you can always bring your case in small claims.
