Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Credit Crd Lien

I recently applied for--name removed--home loan and found there was--name removed--judgement lien against me by--name removed--credit card company. I had no knowledge of thislien until now. I called the credit card company who placed the lien, however, they told me they sold the debt to someone else. Can they still have this lien ( public ) record against me on record?

Re: Credit Crd Lien

If the judgment is valid, then it can be sold any number of times and remain of public record. The issue that I would raise is your claim that this is the first that you heard of this judgment. In order to obtain a judgment against you, a lawsuit would have to be filed, and you would have to be served with paperwork. If you were never served, or served improperly, you may be able to strike the judgment. Contact an attorney and discuss the matter with him.
