Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Hi. I have a medical debt in collection from Jan 2016. It started at $330. I have been making a payment every month. A specific amount was never discussed so I make a payment of what I can afford each month. They haven't sent a monthly statement since the 2 month. They now are calling looking for bi-weekly payments which I can not do but can continue with monthly. I am down to $155. They are stated they will no longer accept my payments if I make them monthly and for less than $50 per month they are looking to receive. What happens if I continue with my current payments and they return payment to me? I think they are looking to get this off their books by end of year. I tried do some kind of settlement to end it but he tells me he can't accept that for this client. I am just seeing what could happen if I continue my payments and they return them. Thank you for your time.

Don't do your payments. Make the payments to yourself. When you have $75 saved up try and settle lump sum for that amount. If they will not accept, then keep saving till you have enough. They are going to send this out to a debt collector. They are not going to sue you. If not paid, it will be on your credit report.
