If i don't pay off my student loans before I die--will they go after my estate (house I plan to leave my children)?

Yes and no. Hopefully, you will not die for a long long time. And I do not know what assets you will have at the time of your death or how they will be titled.

If this is a federal student loan, this is very very difficult to get rid of. They have wage garnishment and there is no statute of limitations. With certain excepotions, these debts cannot even be discharged in bankruptcy. Make an effort to pay these loans. See if you qualify for some student loan forgiveness (there is forgiveness for some professionals). If not, do proper planning so you can transfer as much as possible to your children or better yet, die broke by turning assets into income streams.
