Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Arson?

My brother, who works at a paper towel warehouse, smelt smoke and ran over to find a palet on fire. He poured his drink on it, and tried to put it out. A coworker came over and asked what happened. Being sarcastic because he doesn't smoke and it's been proven that he does not, he said he threw a cigarette and to get help. a fire marshal came and wanted him to take a lie detector. should he before talking to a lawyer? can he lose his job and go to jail even though he didn't cause this? he has no record and has never been in any kind of trouble before.

Never talk to the police. It can not help you.

Getting a lawyer would be a wise step.
