Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

I really need help. I am being charged with felony retail theft. I am a single mother with three children. I receive help through public assistance. I'm getting letters from hud that because charges are filed against me my contract will be terminated. Is there anything that I can possibly do so I can continue to receive help? If I get kicked off these programs my children and I will be homeless. Please, I'm scared and don't know how to go about getting a lawyer, don't have a lot of income.

You need to contact your county's public defenders office. As for the assistance issues you should contact the bar association for a referral to Legal Services.
