Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

I had someone file a complaint against me last night at our local recreation center claiming that I pushed their child down. My husband and I walk on the indoor track every night and have never had a problem. there were children running all over the place and a child ran into me on the track and fell down. I was approached by the father on my next turn around and he said that I would have a problem if I knocked his child down again. I told him to keep his kid off the walking track. He must of then filed a complaint because the next night while walking, the police came and questioned my husband and I. We wrote statements and we were told that other parents wrote statements and saw me push the child down. I denied this and explained that I would never intentionally push a child down. We were told that we could not come back to the recreation center for now and if we did, we could be issued a citation. The officer also said that our statements will go to the DA and we would be hearing from them. I am extremely concerned and upset. What could happen next?

And you forgot that the 5th amendment applies to you.

Most likely they're going for other statements. Now unless the victim makes a big fuss the DA would like the matter to go away. He's got a budget and he'd prefer to spend it jailing real criminals.

What ever you do, don't talk to the police nor the DA until you've had a criminal defense lawyer give you advice.

I handle cases like this all the time. It is a shame that this kind of thing has to happen.

This is something that could be handled with mediation in the District Justice's Office (You are i Delaware County, I am guessing from the zip code. Please call me (at no charge) and let's discuss this. )

Please check out my web site at www.saulhsegan.com

My cell phone is 215-370-2608. You can call me on the weekends, no problem.

Trust me...everything will work out just fine, with the proper guidance and cooler heads prevailing.
