pipe charge

a cop pulled me over and smelled marijuana and eventually led to searching the vehicle and myself. i gave no hassle to him an gave him the pipe.. i was NOT intoxicated by the marijuana.. how can i fight this?

I agree with the other answer. There's a pretty good chance that the cop will be willing to reduce the charges to some type of summary.

Unless there was no good cause for the initial stop, you don;t have much to argue... This is a paraphernalia charge I presume? Intoxication does not matter, as you were not charged with intoxication, just possession of the pipe. What is your concern? I have not looked it up, but I do not believe it is a felony... are you concerned about future employment and a drug related charge? If so, the best chance is to get an atty to talk with the prosecutor, to see if they will reduce/change the charge to something else... I may even suggest agreeing to a stiffer fine, because in the end, except for the "bad" charges, maybe 5-10% of the charges each week, they are there to raise revenue.
