Legal Question in DUI Law in Pennsylvania

16 dui

My son was arrested for a DUI at the age of sixteen. I know I have to get a lawyer. But, what could happen to him besides loosing his license. Will this go on his record when he is applying for colleges

Re: 16 dui

If you son is being treated as a juvenile, he can get a consent decree. If he gets the consent decree and complies with all of the terms of the consent decree, he will not have a criminal record. However, if the applciation for the college says "have you ever been arrested?" obviously, the truthful answer would be yes.

If your county does not offer he a consent decree, then you would need to look specifically at how the DA was going to proceed on the charges before knowing if your son will have a record. It can get a bit complicated. Feel free to call for a free consultation 215.825.5183 for Brian. Good Luck.
