Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

2 1/2 years ago I came home from work to find my wife had moved out and almost emptied the house. The divorce was very unfriendly and just finalized 2 months ago. I am in the process of moving and found several items that she left behind in haste, that she would deem sentimentally valuable. I refinanced the home in my own name just after she left. I am certain that I'm not legally required to notify her that I have located said items, but my question is; if I were to notify her that I am in possession of these items, and should she demand that they be returned, can I legally impose a cash value to the return the items to recoup a fraction of what I lost through the process of refurnishing the house, refinance, and legal fees associated to the divorce?

"Finalized" how. If by agreement or court order you must refer to the document for the answer to your question. If these do not obligate you to notify or return the items then you could demand some consideration. But you say you might only hope to "recoup a fraction." In such a case my advice would be to simply return them to her with a sincere wish that she find some happiness in the future. Why open up the wounds again if the divorce is finalized.

I read your inquiry and thought about the best way to answer your post. I carefully thought of what I felt was the best approach. Then I read Mr. Narcisi's answer. To my amazement we were of the same opinion.
