Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My ex-husband and I were granted our dicorce in June with settlement reached to be paid in one lump some by August 31,2010. It's almost heading towards the middle of September. My atty. finally submitted to me the fact that he was entering a Pet to Enforce Marital Settlement. He is a law enforcement officer. Doesn't this type of defiance look bad on his behalf. I', worried that after a long petty divorce process that I may never see the settlement come into fruition.

Your attorney is on the right track. Your divorce settlement was very likely merged into the divorce decree, so if your ex doesn't abide by it, contempt proceedings can be brought against him. That's what the Petition to Enforce is. The Court will have your back now. Be patient.
