Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

I had a question regarding a change of name on my birth certificate for the name whose under "father" I would like to know if I could fill out form for correction and change it that way to my step-fathers.

Thank you for your question.

A Birth Certificate can only be changed if there was a mistake in the information that it contains. If there is no error, the Bureau of Vital Statistics will not change any information on a Birth Certificate. If you do not share your stepfather's last name, you can change it by filing a Petition for a Change of Name. Unfortunately, that cannot be done for your Birth Certificate because naming your natural father as your father is not an error.
