Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

I am separated from my husband. We are going through the divorce process. I had a PFA when we first split. I moved to a new home/location. My ex did not know where I moved to. I was just served papers from the sheriff's dept. regarding our marital home being foreclosed. On the paperwork is my NEW ADDRESS!! The attorney for the mortgage company claims its not their fault, the mortgage company says its not their fault either. And when I called the sheriff's dept. to ask what I do to protect myself they told me they could not answer that. What do I do?

The first thing you should do is contact an attorney who handles foreclosure defense to determine if a response can or should be filed. However, regarding service, you can be served anywhere in PA and it is very easy for a party to locate another party.

Feel free to call or e-mail me on a free initial basis.

Very truly yours,
