Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My son's biological father has not had any contact (visitation or child support) in over 10 years. His name is not on the birth certificate or on record. The only documents that state he is the father are the DNA results as well as the child support/custody papers..which have been suspended because domestic realtions can't find him. My question is can my current husband legally sign the birth certificate and become his legal gaurdian, or must we go a different route

YOUR HUSBAND CAN TRY TO ADOPT THE CHILD. tHIS WOULD REQUIRE EITHER A VOLUNTARY TERMINATION OF PARENTAL RIGHTS BY THE FATHER OF THE CHILD OR IF THIS CANT BE OBTAINED BY GOING INTO COURT AND ATTEMPTING INVOLUNTARY TERMINATION OF PARENTAL RIGHTS. nOTE IF THE RIGHTS ARE TERMINATED AND YOUR HUSBAND IS SUCCESSFUL IN ADOPTING YOUR SON ALL RIGHT FOR SUPPORT FROM THE FATHER WILL CEASE.
