Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My sons father is not on the birth certificate. He was not there when my son was born. He is not around now. He was in and out for about a year then left. My son calls my fiance daddy. We are getting married soon. My fiance has been taking care of my son for 2 years. What do i have to do for my fiance to adopt my son. Do i just have to get his father to sign over rights ? What if i cannot find him.

You would need to have the biological father's permission. If you are unable to locate him, you may petition the court for alternate notice. An adoption becomes very complicated legally so you should seek the assistance of an adoption attorney.
