Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My spouse bought a house while we were together and not long before we were married. My name is not on the house even though my income was primary in the household and helped pay most of the bills including the mortgage. We have mutally agreed to divorce. Do I have any rights to the house even if my name is not on the mortgage and it was purchased prior to our marriage even though we moved into the home together right after the purchase?

Any increase in the value of the property during the course of the marriage would be considered marital property and thus, you may be entitled to a portion of the equity in the home.

It would be in your best interest to retain a lawyer. Equitable distribution of marital property claims can be rather complex. Furthermore, if your claim isn't properly filed with the court prior to the entry of a final divorce decree, you will forever waive your right to any claim on the property.
