My wife who has no means of support, left me for a woman she met on the internet. She now is partitioning for support.

You can stop her or at least slow her down. There is the entitlement defense. She is not entitled to spousal support if there would be a grounds for a fault based divorce. Which in this case there would be.

As the previous post mentions, if she only filed for spousal support, you may be able to defend against any award of support. However, if she ends filing a claim for APL, you may still end up having to pay support. Many more facs would be needed to better advise you as to your potential exposure, ie: how much, how long, whether she would qualify at all, etc.

I would highly suggest that you retain an attorney for this. My firm does handle divorce and support matters in York County. If you haven't already retained an attorney, please feel free to contact my office to schedule a free phone consultation.
