Child Injured Playing Mini Golf

I recently took my children (7 and 12) and their friends to play mini golf. I did not play - sat across the course. Son accidentally hit friend in the mouth while putting and 2 teeth were knocked out (not clear if baby or permanent). I applied ice packet and held napkins and called his Mom. His mother flew into a rage on the phone as well as when she arrived. I did not call to check on him that night (planned to call next night after she calmed). In meantime, she called and left a threatening voice mail for me. Called 3 days later and screamed at me about negligence of allowing them to play alone. She has since reported it as child abuse to CYS (with me as perpetrator and caregiver). Any advice? I could not get a word in during the conversation with her and have not offered to pay medical expenses for the accident. She took him to the ER that night.

Re: Child Injured Playing Mini Golf

report this to your homeowners insurance. You shold also determine the satus of the complaint with the authorities. If anything is going to come of it, do not talk to them!1 Hire a criminal attny asap. If you need a reference, let me know. You may be liable for the injured child not because of your neglect, but because your child accidently hit the other child. Accidents happen and thats why insurance exists. The golf facility may also be responsible.
