Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Damages for Parental Absence

Writing on behalf of my son, I was wondering if he has a case for a civil suit against his biological father for not supporting him financially, emotionally or otherwise. My son has social problems along with various other issues, not to mention the possibility that he will not be able to attend/finish his college due to lack of funds (which I believe stems directly from never receiving a penny of child support from his biological father). Bottom line, can he sue his father? He is 18 years old and is no longer a case in Social Services. If you can contact me and advise me and/or my son, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Re: Damages for Parental Absence

Since your son has now attained the age of 18(age of majority), you, as this child's mother certainly could've have sued his father for child support

years ago as long as the child was legally a minor(under age 18).

However, now that your son has attained his majority (over age 18, legally speaking), you now would appear to have no legal basis for bringing any suit for support against the father for this child(who is now legally an adult)nor, for any of the other, I regret to say, essentially frivolous reasons(from a legal perspective), which you've proposed in your question.
