Fee Agreements

Are fee agreements required? My husband cannot remember if he signed one and we asked our attorney to send us a copy of it over a month ago and he hasn't responded, but he has been deducting money from our retainer.

NJ Requires fee agreement for a client to be charged. Failure to provide can even be an ehtical breach. Put your demand in writing and advise if not complied with contact the Board of Bar Examiners,

Fee agreements are required. The lawyer will respond to your request for one very quickly if you

ask him if the failure to have one is an ethical

violation.
