Contact a consumer attorney. These cases are usually easily defended, especially where the account was sold to a collection agency. My office offers free reviews of cc lawsuits.

The question is not when you opened the account but when you stopped paying on the account. Did you open the account in PA and was it last paid in the last 4 years? Is the lawsuit by the orginal creditor or a debt collector? Do you have other debts? Would bankruptcy be the best option for you? What assets do you have? Are you judgment proof? Would you like to resolve this case outside of litigation? Who is the law firm and creditor/collector doing the suing?

I can review your papers for you to determine whether an answer should be filed or not and to help work through the above questions. I do not litigate and do not file bankruptcy. If you want to reach a resolution out of court, please feel free to contact me.
