Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

underage drinking and driving

My 19 year old son served alcohol to a 17 year old in our home when we were not there. The 17 year old then drove and had an accident. There was property damage but no major injuries. What is my son's criminal liability and what is my husband and my civil liability?

Re: underage drinking and driving

If your son is charged with underage possesion of alcohol and providing it to a minor, he is looking at losing his driver's license for a period of time, probably six mos to a year plus a fine of several hundred dollars. It is a very punitive statute.

An attorney may be able to plead his case down to mischief or a lesser offense with a similar fine but no suspension. Call a local attorney.
